About
This is Josh and me right after he proposed
This is my journey to regain and maintain my health after having twins. My husband and I are the proud parents of Nathan and Lucy, my amazing twins. I am so excited to spend the next several years with them. I had a rough pregnancy and a difficult recovery from my c-section. I thought I would never feel good again! I used to be one of the most energetic people I knew before I got pregnant. I love speed walking and at the time I was walking 4-8 miles a day and feeling great!
Pregnancy sure can take it out of you! Not only was my body providing vital nutrients for one baby, but two. I feel like they zapped me of everything that made me thrive. All of a sudden I felt older. Too much older for the short amount of time that had passed. It’s a terrible feeling. But I refuse to let that be the end of it! I want to feel good again and I will! So I am writing about my journey back to the pep in my step. I want to be in the back yard with the kids playing kickball and spring up from my chair to sit in the sandbox with them. It can be tempting to accept the way that things are and just be a tired and lathargic mother. But it doesn’t have to be that way for anyone.
Pregnant with twins
My husband and I are pretty healthy eaters, but I know I can do better. We are also active, but like I said, I don’t have the same spring to my step as I used to. We eat some organic and some non-organic, but my goal is to eventually be eating all organic as finances will allow. I make most things from scratch. My goal is to make some minor and major changes in my everyday life in order to regain and permanantly maintain health to the best of my ability. This isn’t about pounds and inches only, but about quality of life.
I thank God for the health I have and for every functioning part on my body. I hope to honor Him with my body and enjoy my family with good health!
